Emerging Sports Status 1.The IHSA is the governing body of Illinois High School Sports - as a recognized emerging sport we agree to be governed by the IHSA rules
2.US Lacrosse establishes the rules of the game that we play
3.IHSWLA - is a member organization that oversees and manages the growth of the sport in Illinois – ISHWLA is also responsible for the organization of the annual State Championship series of games. The St. Charles Women's Lacrosse Club represents St. Charles High Schools and is a dues paying member in good standing of the IHSWLA.
4.D303 High School Athletic Departments provide us the affiliation to compete as a high school club sport. D303 does not financially contribute to the St. Charles Women's Lacrosse Club. We work in cooperation with the D303 high schools and the individual athletic departments to provide the opportunity for the players of this club to compete as a high school emerging sport. The D303 High School Athletic Departments monitor and are responsible for supervision of the coaching staff while in season. The D303 Athletic Departments are responsible for conducting post season evaluations with the coaching staff. The St. Charles Womens Lacrosse Board will present the Club's evaluation of the season and the coaching staff to the Athletic Department during or prior to the formal post season evaluations.
5.The St. Charles Women's Lacrosse Club is a self funded unincorporated association governed by it's Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is responsible for registration of club members, fundraising activities, organization and payment of all club and team related expenses, establishing the direction and goals of the club, maintaining relationships with the high school athletic departments, associated club administrative activities and the recruitment of the coaching staff.
6.The Coaching Staff is recruited and retained by the St. Charles Lacrosse Club Board of Directors. All paid and volunteer members of the coaching staff are retained by the St. Charles Womens Lacrosse Board and are subject to the approval of the D303 Athletic Department. The coaching staff reports to the D303 High School Athletic Departments during the playing season. The Head Coach is the primary liaison between the D303 Athletic Departments, the players and parents. The Head Coach works closely with the D303 Athletic Departments to provide game schedules and monitor player eligibility.
7.The team players are responsible for maintaining their academic eligibility and for following the direction and instruction of the coaching staff while in season.
